When the Liverpool cotton merchant Arthur Kilpin Bulley began to create a garden in 1898, he laid the foundations of one of the major botanic gardens in the United Kingdom.

For the more adventurous Chester is well placed on the border of Wales for a day out exploring the stunning scenery of the Snowdonia National Park which boasts Wales' highest peak, Snowdon Mountain.
